Block Jigsaw is a spatial packing game where every puzzle starts as a complete board and is divided into connected pieces. Your job is to rebuild the board without gaps or overlaps.
No account required to play. Optional player profiles unlock competitive Daily Challenge rankings and cross-device achievements.
One deterministic puzzle is generated for each UTC date, so everyone receives the same board for that day. Daily difficulty rotates between Explorer, Challenge and Master.
Local progress remains on this browser. Creating a player profile is optional and only needed for online rankings and achievements.
Block Jigsaw now supports optional player profiles for people who want to compete. Daily rankings now feed a weekly championship, streak board and achievement system, while every competitor gets a shareable public game profile.
Playing remains completely account-free. Sign-in is only needed to register a competitive score.

Block Jigsaw does not require each piece to return to one predetermined location. Any placement is accepted when it stays inside the board and does not overlap another piece. That freedom creates the real puzzle: a move can be legal now but leave an awkward gap later.
The generator starts with every board cell occupied, seeds several regions, then grows those regions until the whole grid is divided. Each region becomes one piece, so the generated set starts with at least one valid arrangement.
Good moves preserve useful space for the pieces that remain. Corners, narrow pockets, notches and long edges often matter more than simply placing whichever piece happens to fit first.
Early modes use fewer, chunkier pieces and generous snapping. Later modes introduce more irregular shapes, exact placement, rotation and—at the highest level—optional flipping.
The age labels inside the game are only rough guidance. They are not ability tests. Anyone can move up or down depending on which puzzle size and control set feels enjoyable.

See the generator explained →If the game rejected every placement except the original generated position, the player could solve the board by trial-and-error matching: move a piece until the game accepts it. Instead, Block Jigsaw checks only whether the current placement is physically legal.
This means the player has to think about the future. A long piece might fit across the middle, for example, yet consume the only space suitable for a more awkward shape. Discovering that conflict and revising the arrangement is part of the intended play.
The easier modes can be used for relaxed shape play, while older or experienced players can use rotation, timers and larger boards for more challenge. The game is not an intelligence test, developmental assessment or diagnostic tool.
The game runs in the browser. Audio preferences and local puzzle progress stay on the device. Player accounts are optional and are used only when someone chooses to save competitive Daily Challenge results and achievements online.
Block Jigsaw is maintained as an active project rather than a one-page demo. The latest site update improves mobile guidance, expands original gameplay documentation and makes the project structure easier to navigate.
